7th Meet-up:
Largest business model contest in Japan – JBMC
Date: January 11, 2021.
If you’re a University student of a Japanese University and have been interested in entrepreneurship, by now you must’ve observed that there are a large number of business competitions conducted in universities all around Japan. While some of these contests are only focused on social entrepreneurship, others encourage any brilliant idea with a good business model. As organizers of KUIEC, we always encourage students to participate in these competitions and share information about such events as much as we can. And that’s why we introduced Mr. Goi, director of JBMC to talk at our meetup about Japan’s largest lean startup business model competition.
Next up, we had Snur Hamid, co-founder of Japan Hackathon explaining its application process and all the nuts and bolts of the competition. Japan Hackathon, organized by KUIEC is also a Business contest where the participants work hard for 52 hours to show the judges their prototype and the winner gets to take home half a million yen!
Finally, we had our very own Japan Hackathon 2020 winner pitching his business idea, Odaiba to us. Another startup pitch was followed by Anna Kreshchenko, a Kyoto University student who launched her own business recently called Flora Maternity. An application to support women’s mental health and work-life balance during pregnancy.
Alright, that’s all for now, see you next time!
Dream big.
